The S-Works Epic Hardtail is the lightest production frame to date. Impressive, yes, but it's much more than that. We've also created the most capable and comfortable cross-country machine ever, because you're not fast if you're being pummeled by the trail. It's a game changer.

TUNED FOR COMFORT

At 775 grams, the S-Works Epic Hardtail frameset is the lightest and most capable production chassis on earth. We've tuned the composite to not only be ultralight, but also ultra-forgiving. You're not winning the race if you're being pummeled by the race course.

TUNED FOR CONTROL

Looking to ride faster? Who isn't? That's why we relaxed its head angle and lengthened the reach. The Epic retains a short wheelbase for deft handling yet offers more predictable steering and a centered rider position for increased control and speed on any trail.

• The lightest and most capable carbon hardtail frame ever created.

• Carbon and resin mix optimized for strength and improved compliance.

• Precision-tailored composite plies and exacting wall thicknesses shed serious weight.

  • At 775 grams, the new S-Works Epic Hardtail chassis is the lightest production hardtail frame on earth. What’s more, we’ve designed it to be incredibly capable and comfortable, with progressive geometry and an advanced composite layup that boosts vertical compliance. We’ve optimized every inch of this frame, precisely tailoring the carbon and resin mix to create the perfect balance of weight, strength and compliance. We’ve gone full geek on the S-Works frame, obsessing over the shape of every overlap layer. While 3-D tailoring an overlap probably sounds like overkill, the extra time and labor spent doing it allows us to eliminate extraneous composite plies that were adding weight, but not improving strength. In other words, there’s a science to the weight savings.
